If your school is closed or a pupil needs to work from home for any reason, our services offer a wealth of flexible resources that can be adapted to many learning scenarios.

Pupils design healthy new foods in national competition

13th July 2018

Pupils from Queens Park Academy, St Bede’s Catholic Primary School and Greet Primary School were runners-up in the ‘Design a Healthy New Food’ competition, organised by Discovery Education and Switzerland’s Alimentarium Foundation. Open to primary schools across the UK, the competition asked pupils to design a nutritious food, meal or snack, and create a fun advert to promote it.

Life on Mars: Pupils win space challenge with NASA module design

19th June 2018

Five UK primary school pupils are reaching for the stars after winning a competition to design a spacecraft for NASA. The young scientists, from London and Surrey, are the winners of this year’s Generation Beyond Challenge - organised by Lockheed Martin and Discovery Education.

Safer Internet Day 2016: Primary School hosts event with Islington Council and Discovery Education

An Islington primary school is hosting a special event for parents and pupils today, to mark Safer Internet Day. Organised by Islington Council and Discovery Education, the event at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School on Tuesday will see parents going back into the classroom, to take part in lessons and a special assembly with the aim of keeping families safe online.

Discovery Education hosts first live, global virtual field trip from Tower of London to commemorate Remembrance Day

Discovery Education is no stranger to virtual field trips, bringing students and educators to a wide range of places in the U.S. and globally – from Boston’s Museum of Science, to the food labs at Chobani, to Montana’s Glacier National Park and even to China with First Lady Michelle Obama. But Discovery Education had never hosted a live, international field trip – until now!

Historic Royal Palaces partners with Discovery Education to broadcast live school assembly from Tower of London to enhance First World War remembrance for teachers and pupils in the UK, US and Canada

Monday November the 10th will mark a historic first for schools in the UK, US and Canada when at 2.30 GMT Discovery Education, global leader in standards-based digital content and professional development, working in partnership with Historic Royal Palaces, the independent charity that cares for the Tower of London, will host a live virtual event from the moat of the Tower of London to commemorate the centenary of the First World War.

Espresso Coding's interactive web event empowers teachers to deliver the coding elements of the new Computing curriculum

On 4th September, Espresso Coding will offer an interactive, live stream event designed to support head and classroom teachers across the UK building their confidence and helping them feel prepared to teach Coding. Espresso Education, which is now Discovery Education, will offer this live stream as the final instalment of the Espresso Coding Summer Camp, a free programme with Coding advice and activities to empower teachers with the knowledge to deliver the new curriculum, and to equip pupils with the critical thinking and problem solving skills necessary to be competitive in the digital age.
