Learning for now - Supporting the whole teacher
Date: Thursday, 25th February 2021 Time: 3:15 PM - 5:00 PM
The craft of teaching involves so much more than knowledge delivery: as model learners for their pupils, teachers empower, enthuse, inspire and motivate children every day. Such invisible impact requires huge reserves of energy and motivation from a teacher, especially right now. Developing professional skills is only half the story; personal development matters too. How do teachers retain a sense of empowerment and agency? How do they maintain positive wellbeing? This event considers how we can best support the ‘whole teacher’.
Keynote
Former headteacher, Andrew Hammond is joined by two highly experienced headteachers, NAHT President Ruth Davies, and Hannah Tudor, to find out how they are supporting and empowering their teachers right now, as they steer their school communities through the current challenges and beyond.Motivation in teaching
Andrew Hammond talks to Mark Turner, a renowned expert in the field of motivation in education, to explore the nature of motivation, when we have it and when we don’t, and why it matters so much in teaching and learning..Discovery Education in action
In this session, we will deep dive into Pathway, a new online CPD programme from NAHT and Discovery Education. Lead author and series editor, Andrew Hammond, will walk you through the Pathway programme and explain how it supports reflective practice by developing professional skills at the same time as supporting wellbeing, motivation and critical reflection.Register to attend (for FREE) | Learn more
