With just two weeks to go to the 2023 Women’s World Cup, Discovery Education the worldwide EdTech leader whose state-of-the-art digital platform supports learning wherever it takes place is providing primary schools with exciting resources to help pupils learn about and celebrate this major sporting event.

Kicking off in Australia and New Zealand on 20th July, the tournament will see a record-breaking 32 nations taking part, making the ninth FIFA Women’s World Cup the biggest yet.

To support celebrations, Discovery Education has curated a host of football-themed resources connecting children’s enthusiasm for the game with learning. Closely mapped to the National Curriculum, and covering a broad range of subjects – from geography and maths to social studies and PE – the resources include videos, images, interactives and activities, providing fun and engaging ways to learn about women’s football and be inspired by its role models.

Available via the award-winning digital learning service Discovery Education Espresso, and suitable for students from Foundation to KS2, Espresso’s football-themed resources include:

Women’s World Cup Board: Learn about the teams, countries and players taking part
Tournament Wallchart: Track results from the group stage to the final

Howard Lewis, Discovery Education’s UK and International Managing Director said:

Discovery Education is proud to provide schools with exciting resources to celebrate and learn about the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
