Discovery Education announces new strategic partnership with Whole Education to support professional development and ensure effective implementation of its award-winning digital resources in the classroom.

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM (8 October 2015) – Inspired by the power of a child’s curiosity, Discovery Education and Whole Education today announced a new partnership to encourage students to develop a lifelong passion for learning. With the shared approach of bringing together like-minded teachers to collaborate, network and share ideas, the goal of the strategic partnership is to further enhance teaching and learning amongst these innovative schools and to provide high-quality learning experiences for pupils.

We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the inspiring network of teachers at Whole Education. Ensuring teachers have the most relevant digital content, effective teaching strategies, and the power to collaborate and innovate is the core of our mission at Discovery. Partnering with Whole Education combines the best in educational thinking, digital resources, and professional learning opportunities to support the already innovative work of the teachers and schools within the Whole Education Network,” explained Susanne Thompson, Vice President of Discovery Education.

Through this new partnership, Discovery Education will continue to empower teachers and captivate students by providing forward-thinking professional development on up-to-date pedagogy supporting the effective use of its services, such as Discovery Education Espresso, Discovery Education Coding, and Discovery Education Secondary, all of which are aligned to the National Curriculum. It is Discovery Education’s mission to help pupils develop a range of skills, qualities and knowledge to help them succeed and thrive in the innovative and creative work environment in the UK.

This mission is supported by Whole Education, as Douglas Archibald, Director, said,
“Like Discovery Education, we believe in igniting curiosity within children. This is at the heart of our philosophy of delivering a ‘whole education’, one which allows children of all ages and abilities to be motivated by all kinds of learning and to reach their potential. We have partnered with Discovery Education, one of the world's leading digital education providers because ‘whole education’ and lifelong learning involves more than simply teaching the curriculum in the classroom. We want to encourage schools to take risks and network with other innovative professionals to provide a variety of learning opportunities to children.
