The Discovery Education Summer Coder Challenge invites tech-savvy primary school pupils to showcase their coding skills by creating a fun app or computer game.

Teachers have until 30th May 2024 to register their pupils for the Challenge and schools that don’t already subscribe to Discovery Education Coding can access a free trial while the competition is open. The Challenge runs from 3rd to 28th June and the winners will be announced on 1st July.

Last year’s competition saw pupils from schools in London and Devon take first place after creating innovative block coding games.

Michael Savitz, Discovery Education’s General Manager, International said:

“We’re proud to launch Discovery Education’s Summer Coder Challenge. We hope that the challenge will inspire students to have fun with computer programming and we can’t wait to see the games and apps they create.”

Taking coding from concept to reality, Discovery Education Coding helps children to master computer programming in a fun and accessible way, giving them the freedom to create apps and games using their imagination.
