Instructional strategies: Exploring different models

Integrate digital media into your classroom through a variety of instructional strategies. During this course, participants will explore different models that can be applied, such as project based learning, flipped and blended classrooms. Applicable to all curriculum areas, focus will be on the benefits of engaging students through these approaches to teaching and learning.

Duration options: 3 hours or 6 hours

6 hour course

Goals:

  • To explore the integration of digital media into the classroom through a variety of instructional strategies
  • To look at different models that can be applied, such as project based learning and flipped and blended classrooms
  • To provide information on the benefits of engaging students through these approaches to teaching and learning utilising the resources of Discovery Education Secondary
  • To support the integration of these models in the classroom

Outcomes:

  • An understanding of how to integrate digital media into the classroom through a variety of instructional strategies
  • An understanding of the different instructional models such as project based learning and flipped and blended classrooms
  • An awareness of the advantages of these approaches and how they can support teaching and learning using the resources of Discovery Education Secondary
  • Confidence to incorporate these models in teaching and learning

3 hour course

Goals:

  • To gain an understanding of the benefits of different instructional models
  • To look at the integration of digital media into the classroom through different instructional strategies utlising the resources of Discovery Education Secondary

Outcomes:

  • An awareness of the benefits of different instructional models
  • An awareness of how to integrate instructional strategies into the classroom and how to use the resources of Discovery Education Secondary to support
